The Obamacare Bailout

Even though Obamacare is still not fully implemented, the Democrats are already asking for it to be bailed out. “So Nancy Pelosi is now saying we have to bail out Obamacare to find out what’s in it,” Jodi Miller reports. In this NewsBusted, Miller also touches upon the astronomical unemployment rate among youths in Greece and radio talk show host Randi Rhodes’ assertion that Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are terrorists.

How Medicaid Hurts the Poor

“Most physicians can’t afford to accept Medicaid” patients, says Dr. Alieta Eck, a primary-care physician based in Piscataway, New Jersey. “If you’re getting paid about $17 per visit, it won’t be long before you can’t pay your staff or pay your rent.”

Medicaid is the nation’s health care system for the poor. It’s funded jointly by the federal government and the states. Medicaid is either the first- or second-largest budget item in all 50 states and the program is slated for a massive expansion under President Obama’s health-care reform law. Despite the program’s huge and growing overall cost, reimbursements to medical providers are so low that many practices refuse to accept Medicaid patients, causing long waiting periods for treatment. In this edition of NewsBusted, she also weighs in on California’s looming shortage of doctors, horse meat in the United Kingdom and a woman who is suing her university because she received a C-Plus.

This Debate’s Gone to the Dogs

This just in…Former President George Bush’s dog Barney died last week. “Liberals say Barney would have been saved if Obamacare had been fully implemented,” says Jodi Miller. “However, some conservatives are blaming the Clintons.” In this edition of NewsBusted,  Miller also touches on Chuck Hagel’s disastrous Congressional hearing, Leon Panetta’s decision to allow women in combat, and RuPaul defeating CNN’s Piers Morgan in the TV rating battle.

Need a Doctor? Go Abroad

The Obama Administration got nowhere creating jobs with its green energy initiatives. But thanks to Obamacare, one industry might yet experience a boom — medical tourism. If the double whammy of Obamacare, which will be fully up and running in 2014, and a rapidly aging population creates pronounced health-care shortages, more and more Americans may soon start looking abroad for fast, affordable and effective treatments for all sorts of medical problems. Why Obamacare Isn’t Moral

Dinesh D’Souza, the author of Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream, explains why universal healthcare isn’t as morally defensible — let alone as efficient or practical — as its supporters pretend. He appeared in this forum with Michael Shermer at the invitation of the Oregon State University Socratic Club. H/T Moonbattery

States Divided Over Obamacare

Joe Rago from the Wall Street Journal examines the impact of Obamacare at the state level. While some states have moved to establish Obamacare exchanges, other states have signaled they will resist doing so. A third group of states haven’t weighed in yet on the matter. Rago says states holding out against Obamacare not only fear being saddled with high costs down the road, but also burdensome regulations.
