New York Congressman Peter King says it’s premature to rule out possible Al-Qaeda involvement in the Boston Marathon bombings. In an interview on The Steve Malberg Show, King also says that despite contradictory reports, he still harbors suspicions about the Saudi national observed running from the scene of the bombings. King is a member of the House Homeland Security Committee.
Former New York Times reporter Judith Miller. who spent 85 days in jail in 2009 for refusing to reveal her source in the Valerie Plame CIA affair, tells NewsmaxTV’s Steve Malzberg that she is shocked by the lack of outrage by the journalistic community over the potential jailing of reporter Jana Winter, who refuses to reveal her sources in the James Holmes Aurora theater massacre. She says it would be a different story if Winter didn’t work for Fox News.
Stephen Moore, senior economics writer for The Wall Street Journal, cautions against raising taxes given the fragile state of the economy and sluggish signs of growth. He tells Newsmax that further slippage could thrust America into a double-dip recession, with disastrous consequences.
Dinesh D’Souza, filmmaker of the documentary 2016: Obama’s America, says the work is even more relevant now that President Obama has won re-election. While it’s too early to say if the most dire predictions in the film will come true, D’Souza says he’s troubled with two recent developments: 1. Obama scheduling a trip to Russia, presumably to discuss dismantling America’s nuclear defenses 2. The continued rise in Muslim militancy around the world. He discusses these issues with Newsmax.
When it comes to the all-important swing state of Ohio, “the momentum is clearly with Romney,” pollster John Zogby tells Newsmax TV. But it’s the independent vote that really matters in the Buckeye State, he says. When asked how important the independent vote is for Ohio, Zogby tells Newsmax: “Extremely important. For starters, Ohio does not have registration by political party. People will identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans but most voters in Ohio are independents.”
Meanwhile, back in August, Rush Limbaugh cited a University of Colorado economic model that predicted a blowout Romney victory — with the Republican challenger carrying most, if not all, of the swing states to amass more than 300 electoral votes. The researchers behind the model say it has successfully forecast all eight presidential elections since 1980.
Also, we have some confirmation from the Left, as Michael Moore projects a GOP win in November and advises Americans to practice saying “President Romney.” With three weeks left until the election, it’s too early to get cocky. But now’s the time to brace up, mobilize and bear in mind the patented words of Peter Ingemi from DaTechGuy’s Blog: “Ride right through them, they’re demoralized as hell.”
