Etched in the Heavens
Andre Cassagne, the inventor of the Etch a Sketch, has died in France at the age of 86. The Ohio Art Company, which bought Cassagne’s invention and turned it into one of the most popular children’s toys, announced the death. More than 100 million have been sold worldwide since Ohio Art acquired the Etch a Sketch from Cassagne at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in 1959.
