Call Me Stormy

Finding righteous currents in turbulent times

The Maker

Winner of the Best Animation Award at this year’s Sydney Film Festival, The Maker introduces a strange and lonely creature who races against time to craft the most beautiful creation of his life. Full of magic with a fantastic spin at the end, this animation is the work of Australian Christopher Kezelos, who directed it under the banner of Zealous Creative, a studio he operates with his wife Christine. 1. Wow! Absolutely amazing. The storyline is poignant, the detail in the set design exquisite, and the soundtrack suitably frantic yet sublimely soulful. I loved it despite the quirky characters who could be considered unattractive although this akes them all the more adorable.

It actually reminded me a little of my favourite animation: “9″. So I’m giving it 5 stars!
